Jinadu et al . (page 18) assessed the use of an ultrasound-determined measure, the resistivity index, to assess renal function in diabetes. Non- invasive and readily available, this measure contributes to the armamentarium of the assessing doctor. Commentary is also given on the use of once-weekly semaglutide (Ozempic ® ) in diabetes (page 25). The interesting aspect here is the degree of weight loss in the real-world setting. We eagerly await this outcome measure. Other areas discussed include intermittent fasting as a weight- loss intervention in gestational diabetes (page 28), the effect of metformin on the outcome of diabetics with Covid-19 disease (page 29), and some results from the EMPEROR-Preserved trial (page 30).
